Inspiration When You Need It Most

A few of my favorite places to go when I need a little inspiration for my tutu designs are to be expected. I get so much out of a trip to www.angels-face.co.uk So girly, so pretty, but so expensive! Shopping online at good old www.gymboree.com does the trick as well. For me, I feel like a child all over again with all the fluffy goodness going on... But there is so much more out there to inspire, and not exactly clothing sites either.
Visiting a candy shop (and trying not to eat everything in sight!), is a great treat for the eyes as well as the tastebuds. A trip to the local garden center is inspiring in a whole different way. How about your favorite children's movie? Museum or Gallery?
There's nothing like the feeling of that new design coming to life after a good ol' inspiration session. Absolutely nothing.

Where do Tutus Come From?

The design process for tutus is so addictive for me. As a former scenic design assistant, window dresser, and lifelong seamstress, it's my outlet in a crazy mommy filled peanut butter and jelly world. I always have to be doing something. In fact, my husband Chris complains about my lack of ability to sit down and relax. I think it balances us out perfectly. He reminds me to take a break, and I remind him to get up and move! All kidding aside, having an outlet is important for those of us concentrated on the raising of their child throughout most of every day.

Flowers are my largest source of inspiration, for their color and texture. Flowers can say 'Posh' or 'Garden Party' even 'Soft and Newborn'. A fun day for me is not one spent at the mall with a Starbucks in hand, but one spent at the Silk floral wharehouse with a Starbucks in hand (I soooo love my coffee...) In the end it's like any artist, paintbrush in hand, or camera, or clay, everything comes together for that one special design to appear. Even if sometimes that means staying up 'til 2 AM.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR TUTU!

With my custom tutu designs, you can get just about anything. Chose your size, your colors, your style, and length. Custom tutus are a great choice for weddings, and themed birthday parties. Recently I designed this sophistocated soft gray flower girl dress tutu pictured below, and Barney themed birthday tutu, so much fun! And even an Abby Cadabby dress. It takes a few weeks to process your custom order, but it's well worth it -especially when you just can't find exactly what you're looking for. This bright and fun Mother/Daughter tutu was a hit for one little girl's birthday bash, and what can be cuter than big sister/little sister tutus? Just a few ways you can make something special happen, in a world full of mass produced products that all look the same. Stand out and look fabulous!

Top It Off With Accessories

Headbands are just the thing to 'top off' your gift tutu set. There are so many kinds available, and many I can make as hair clips. I design each one to match a special tutu design, but they can be mixed and matched with any tutu you like.

Many of the flower designs I make from scratch, including the 'Sweet Lilac' headband below. This one also comes in pink or blue- here it's shown in a gorgeous purple mix. It's good to be girly!
